OUR HISTORY

Seegars Fence Company began more than 55 years ago in Goldsboro, North Carolina. As founder of a family-owned hardware business, Neal Seegars decided to offer fence installation services along with fencing materials at the store. The first fence was installed in 1949, and Seegars Fence Company was born.

THE SEEGARS NAME CONTINUES

The store continued to serve the Goldsboro community throughout the next two decades. By the late 1960s, though, the business began to transition away from hardware. Fences and fence building became the new primary focus. In 1968, Neal Seegars approached his son, Wes, with a business proposition. Knowing Wes’s love for the outdoors and his solid work ethic, Neal asked him to consider working in the family fence business. Wes accepted the offer, and after attending college at UNC-Chapel Hill, he returned to eastern North Carolina to work alongside his father.
